Do You care about your community? Are you looking for a place where you can finally do some real good? If so, then the Storehouse WV is looking for you. Whether you can lift 100 pounds or simply sweep the floors, there's plenty to be done, and we can always use the hands to help.

The Storehouse relies on the help of volunteers to complete all the tasks required to meet the needs of our recipients. Individuals and groups are encouraged to consider spending time working at the Storehouse. Help is needed in the following areas:

• Administrative help – Database entry – Inventory control – Correspondence;
• Warehouse help – Loading and unloading of vehicles – Arranging product on racks – Preparing product for distribution; and
• Product processing - Sorting – Repairing – Repackaging of donated goods.

Volunteer Spotlight

Ed Schwartz – Storehouse Distribution Coordinator 

Ed helps groups that come to the Storehouse to receive the items that are available.  He manages the Storehouse when the Manager is not able to be there.

Backstory:  Ed only moved to West Virginia in 2010 to be near family after he retired.  He and his wife live in the Teays Valley area.  After a God ordained meeting where he heard about the work of the Storehouse and our need for volunteers he offered to help.  Ed began volunteering at the Storehouse one day per week in August of 2010.  In November 2010 he took over the operation of the Storehouse when the Manager had emergency surgery that kept him away for the next five month.  Upon the Managers return Ed has gone back to working one day a week and fills in when needed.  Only God could have brought Ed to us.  We are grateful for his willingness to help.

Terry Stone – Data Entry Coordinator 

Terry takes all of the Storehouse Distribution Sheets, Volunteer Sign-In Sheets and other documents and enters them into Microsoft Excel.

Backstory: Terry is an RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program) Volunteer.  RSVP is a program administered through the local United Way and matches up seniors with organizations that are in need of help.  In our case it was a match made in heaven.  We had just lost our long-time Data Entry Coordinator, when she moved out of the area to be closer to family.  Terry started helping us shortly after the start of 2011 and has kept us up to date ever since.  We are blessed to have his help.
