For most of you this newsletter will be the first one you have seen from Believe in West Virginia. Our intention with this publication is to introduce and update you on the programs in which we are involved. Depending on how you were introduced to BiWV, you may know us for our work to create jobs using WVU’s carbon product technologies, for the work of Storehouse WV, or perhaps for our work with youth workers and the Silver Ring Thing (SRT). Each of these projects tie into our Mission, which is:

“Believe in West Virginia Leadership Foundation is a Christ centered catalyst helping to transform the economic, political, social and spiritual environment of West Virginia, thereby communicating hope and a brighter future for all.”

We appreciate all the support we have received from organizations and individuals from around the state.  During the past two years we have experienced the opening and growth of the Storehouse, we have been privileged to sponsor four SRT events, we have seen some exciting happenings on the job development front, and we even have several new initiatives underway!

The year 2007 has started with some exciting events and we are looking forward to a number of new opportunities and some possible challenges. In January we partnered with churches in Fayette County to host two SRT events.  In February, several members of the Board had the chance to meet with Reverend Pat Robertson.  Storehouse WV has continued receiving and providing products to non-profit organizations and churches from around the state, and we are looking at some possibilities for future expansion.  In the remainder of this newsletter you will find out more about these projects and other related news.
